Taking place each month from June through August, SPACE’s annual Seasonal Suppers are a showcase for creativity on the plate and on the stage.
The June supper will feature a performance from musician Celisse Henderson and a seasonally-curated menu from chef Rebecca Newman. An intimate evening of food and art celebrating the height of the Hudson Valley’s summer harvest, this is a farm dinner experience you won’t soon forget!
The supper is rain or shine. In the event of rain, the meal and performances will take place inside the historic buildings at Ryder Farm.
Celisse Henderson is a singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, performer and spoken word artist. Her deep and varied career has seen her on stage, from the recent revival of Godspellat Circle in the Square Theater to Bridget Everett’s Rock Bottomat Joe’s Pub at The Public; on television, in PBS’s The Electric Company, 30 Rock, Rescue Meand more; and in concert, at venues ranging from the Beacon Theater, supporting Mariah Carey, Madison Square Garden supporting Kesha at the 60th annual Grammy Awards, MGM Grand Garden Arena, with PHISH to singing with Melissa Etheridge at the Apollo Theater. But it’s her prodigious talents as a singer-songwriter and musician that have defined Celisse the most as an artist. Her original music, powered by her soulful voice, is hard-rocking and blues-tinged with infectious hooks that stay with you.
Rebecca Newman is currently the Pastry Chef at Facebook NY. She has previously worked as the Executive Pastry Chef at Northern Spy Food Company, and in the pastry departments at The Waverly Inn, Barbuto, and l’apicio. She attended Boston University’s College of Fine Arts and wishes she never had to leave SPACE on Ryder Farm.
