SPACE on Ryder Farm is a nonprofit residency program located on the grounds of a 224-year-old working organic farm in Putnam County, New York, just an hour north of New York City. SPACE’s mission is to create an environment singular in its ability to invigorate artists and innovators and their work, and to contribute to the sustainability and resourceful preservation of one of the oldest organic family farms on the East Coast.

2019 season extension residency

SPACE is proud to announce the eight residents for its February 2019 Season Extension Residency. The residents are Will Arbery (Plano), Cusi Cram (Saint Vincent’s Project), Leslie Gauthier (“Shooing Carolers Away for a Love That Stays”), Monet Hurst-Mendoza (Veil’d), C.A. Johnson (Thirst), Emily Kaczmarek (Jonathan Larson Grant), Jason Gray Platt (Empire Travel Agency) and Ikechukwu Ufomadu (Ike at Night).

 

Farm Transition

On November 12th at SPACE’s third annual Farm in the City Gala, we announced some big news - SPACE is succeeding the indomitable Betsey Ryder as the farmer at Ryder Farm. Watch this video to learn more about Betsey and what lies ahead for SPACE.
