What is your name? Where are you from?
My name is Lila Neugebauer. I’m from New York City.

What is the project you’re working on at SPACE?
I’m here working with The Mad Ones on a new piece that’s currently untitled, which we’re referring to as the untitled Biopic Project.

How have you been spending your time at SPACE?
There’s been a mixture of independent writing, structured improvisations, and a lot of collaborative brainstorming.  We came here with a fair amount of content generated, so we’ve also been going over that content, re-contextualizing and rewriting it, and starting to structure all this content into a cohesive rehearsal draft. We’ve also been playing pick-up soccer and making music and enjoying nature and the good food.

What’s coming up next for you?
In the life of The Mad Ones – this project has been created as part of our residency at the New Ohio Theatre. We’ll do a work in progress showing of this piece this July at the New Ohio’s Ice Factory Festival, then premiere the production at the New Ohio next May.

If you were to be reincarnated as a farm animal, what farm animal would you be?
Hawk, which I acknowledge is not really a farm animal, but you sometimes see on farms…
