REPORTS TO: Executive Director and Director of External Relations

SPACE on Ryder Farm seeks a full time Administrative Assistant to support the rapidly growing organization, Executive Director and senior staff administratively. Duties include but are not limited to:

Essential responsibilities:


  • Maintains Executive Director's calendar/appointments
  • Aids in Organizing and maintaining ED's email inbox and correspondence calendar
  • Schedules Meetings for ED and the rest of SPACE on Ryder Farm's staff, contractors and board
  • Takes notes/minutes in meetings with ED, staff and board
  • Responsible for reconciling receipts for Executive Director


  • Assists ED and Director of Operations in building and maintaining the yearly calendar (artist, devo., staffing etc.)
  • Provides administrative support for ED and Director of Operations through yearly application process


  • Responsible for daily gift entry and processing gift acknowledgements
  • With the Director of External Relations, creates communication calendar for season events and donor relations


  • Updates SPACE's website, hosted through Squarespace
  • Works with ED and Director of External Relations to create and execute design needs for social media (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter)
  • With guidance from Director of External Relations, builds and circulates newsletters
  • Experience with InDesign


  • To the best of their ability, supports and troubleshoots all staff technical needs
  • Under the direction of the Senior Staff maintains SPACE's Google Drive, Donor Database Kindful and other administrative systems
  • Under the guidance of the Director of Operations and Director of Finance and Business Development maintains financial logs including stripe payments and check deposits


The ideal candidate will have 1-2 years of proven administrative experience, strong organizational and time management skills, acute attention to detail, and strong written and verbal communication skills. Must be proficient with InDesign, Squarespace and Google Suite. Experience and proficiency with Kindful fundraising software (or the equivalent), Stripe, and copy editing experience a plus.


SPACE on Ryder Farm is an ‘all-hands-on-deck’ grassroots organization. The Administrative Assistant should be flexible, dexterous, and eager and able to support in a multitude of ways. This is a full-time position working out of both SPACE’s Manhattan and Brewster offices. During the season (June-October), a good deal of time will be spent in Brewster, NY (housing provided). Compensation is competitive. SPACE observes a semi-monthly payroll.
