The culminating event of SPACE on Ryder Farm’s annual residency and growing season, the Farm in the City Gala is a celebration of creativity and community. The evening will feature a seasonal farm-to-table dinner, bespoke cocktails, breathtaking performances from SPACE alumni and friends and a live auction featuring one-of-a-kind cultural experiences.

The gala will welcome 260 guests, including members of the performing arts and entertainment industry, high net-worth individuals, and corporate leaders. Past guests and performers have included Michael Chernus, Carrie Coon (The Leftovers), Cameron Crowe (Almost Famous), Thomas Kail (Hamilton), Dave Malloy (Natasha, Pierre & The Great Comet of 1812), Adepero Oduye (Pariah), Rosie Perez (Do The Right Thing), Josh Radnor (How I Met Your Mother), Abigail Spencer (Mad Men) and Corey Stoll (House of Cards), among many others. Performers and more details to be announced.

Sponsorship support benefits SPACE’s annual programs, which support over 150 artists and innovators each year in disciplines ranging from playwriting to filmmaking to social justice, with fully-subsidized residencies of 1-5 weeks. SPACE’s agricultural offerings provide certified organic produce to SPACE’s own residency kitchen, a 130+ member sliding-scale CSA (community supported agriculture) program, the Union Square Greenmarket, local restaurants, and to local community members in need through a partnership with food rescue organization Second Chance Foods.
